Bioinspired Pavilion: Experimental Study of Digital Fabrication With 3d Printing of Stereolithography
Few experiences have pointed out the possibilities and limitations of digital technologies to produce components for the construction sector inspired by strategies for the efficient use of materials and structures of nature. The research hypothesized that digital technologies for design and manufacturing, 3D modeling-slicing-3D printing of stereolithography, allow the production of bionic and/or biomimetic components. The general objective was to determine the possibilities and limitations of designing and manufacturing with digital technologies a pavilion inspired by the strategy of the peel of the fruits of atemoya, buriti, babassu coconut, soursop and pinecone to balance the external environmental factors with the internal environment of the fruits. The work was structured in foundation and experimentation. The main result of the research was the confirmation that digital technologies for design and manufacturing allow the production of components for civil construction inspired by geometries, functions and systems found in nature.
