Exploring Simulated Experiences In Virtual Reality To Enhance Construction Learning Integrated With Architectural Design
This study presents the "Didactic Construction Site in Virtual Reality" prototype, developed to enhance construction education in Architecture and Urbanism courses. Utilizing Unity software and Oculus Quest 2, the application simulates basic construction procedures, providing an immersive practical experience that complements theoretical learning. The main objective is to familiarize students with construction sites, understand construction stages, and allow autonomous and creative interaction, promoting greater engagement and understanding. The methodology involved creating a modular virtual environment, programming interactive tools, and conducting practical sessions with students. Results showed significant improvement in student engagement and understanding of construction processes. The application proved effective in bridging the gap between theoretical and practical learning, indicating potential for broader educational applications. Future enhancements include expanding content and improving technical performance to maximize its educational impact.
