Self Building The Play Shelter Detail Shape Grammar

This investigation aims to promote the construction of a type of habitable artifacts generated and manufactured through a detail shape grammar (Stiny, 1972), i.e., Play shelter detail shape grammar incorporating rules for generating buildings in accordance with construction standards for equipment to be used by children and rules that codify machine procedures so that the generated elements might be manufactured with a 3-axis CNC milling machine. (Quaresma, 2018). The Detail Shape Grammar Interpreter (DSGI) pseudo interpreter is proposed, which allows generating drawings of the building's skin that reacts to the site's conditions incorporating the constraints regarding the legislation related with children's garden equipment’s, and the more intuitive aspects (Stouffs, 2022), allowing the ease of full-scale prototypes construction, optimizing labor resources on site.
