Stages of Creation of Augmented Reality App With Multiple Targets: Application of Pre-Rendered Textures
This article deals with guidelines for developing virtual heritage augmented reality mobile apps representing collections of 3D models of buildings. As the final AR experience should be triggered by multiple targets in the same application, we decided to employ pre-rendered textures applied to the models to achieve better visual results with lighter files – both to load and to process. In this paper, we examine the baked textures production process and analyze the process and the resulting visualization in two different frameworks, one using AR.js + AFrame, and the Unity + ARFoundation platform.
