Reimagining Architectural Education: Leveraging H5p For Enhanced Engagement and Lifelong Learning
The shift to online education, accelerated by COVID-19, has challenged hands-on architectural learning. This study investigates the integration of H5P, a digital tool, to enhance student engagement and promote active learning. Conducted in a senior undergraduate module in China, the research used H5P escape room activities and gathered feedback from 14 voluntary participants via an online questionnaire based on the UTAUT model. Although the non-probabilistic sample limits generalizability, findings indicate that H5P fosters engagement, with 50% of participants reporting significant benefits from its interactive and gamified features. However, 25% emphasized the need for broader curriculum integration to realize its full potential. The research proposes H5P as a promising tool for developing virtual learning materials that foster student-teacher feedback, collaborative design processes, and lifelong learning. Despite sampling limitations, this study contributes to pedagogical innovation by aligning digital tools with the evolving demands of architectural education, supporting modern curricular innovation.
