Design Solution Space Exploration of Social Housing Floorplans
It can be beneficial to use a generative-parametric algorithm when designing architectural plans for social housing in the search for variability and singularities and better environmental adaptation. This article aims to generate and analyse spatial design solutions for architectural plans applied to social housing, considering furniture and functional space. Parametric computer simulations were carried out of the floor plans of social housing and the layout of the main rooms. The graph method was used, using the Marmot and Magnetizing tools available in the Grasshopper plugin. Dimensional guidelines from Brazilian standards and literature were introduced as inputs. As a result, it was found that in all simulations, there were solutions in line with the requirements of the standards, and it was found that most of the layout simulations fit within the spaces generated by the floor plan simulations, concluding that they are compatible and therefore an effective methodology.
