Artistic Practices and New Aesthetic Paths: The Senses and Computer Vision
Structure of the work: 1. introduction, 2. foundation: digital analysis in the study of artistic works 3. methodology 4. results 5. discussion 6. conclusion and notes 7. references. This work presents a numerical path of digital analysis of Candido Portinari's works, with the aim of envisioning new aesthetic paths for understanding artistic practices, based on computer vision. The methodology adopted is based on pixel analysis of works available in high resolution in the artist's official collection, using ImageJ and Processing software, free code programs that can be widely used in this type of research. The Munsell System was adopted in its color reading parameters, hue, saturation and brightness. From the analysis of the works of Portinari's brown phase, a numerical look is presented, through digital analysis, which has not yet been glimpsed at the artist's work, opening a reflection between the senses and computer vision.
