Different Projectual Concepts Based On Bio-Inspired Generative Processes

The purpose of the article is to investigate how information from natural systems can be represented in generative design processes. For this, three projects were analyzed at different times through the action-research methodology, comprising the problem, operationalization and, finally, the solutions. The projects were developed with support of the Rhinoceros 3D software and the Grasshopper plugin. We opted for collaborative techniques with the formation of working groups in all cases. As a result, the teams developed generative processes for a luminaire, a pavilion and a cradle, solving the proposed challenges. In this investigation process we discovered that it is possible to obtain solutions based on bio-inspired algorithms, morphological patterns of species and natural contexts within the generative system.
