Remote Server Integration of Stable Diffusion In Grasshopper For Text To Image and Image To Image Generation

This paper explores the integration of Stable Diffusion into architectural education through the development of a plug-in for Grasshopper. Using text to image controls, the plug-in allows users to generate images through a Stable Diffusion server to streamline the conceptual development process, enabling students to explore a wide range of design possibilities in real time. The paper highlights the plug-in’s potential to enhance creativity and innovation within architectural education by providing an accessible and efficient tool for generative design. Results from a parametric design seminar demonstrate the plug-in’s capability to transform educational practices by integrating latent diffusion models into visual production. By democratizing access to generative design techniques, Txt2Img represents a significant shift in architectural pedagogy, empowering students to push the boundaries of creativity and explore new frontiers in generative design.
